Ctrl300 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 New spy scandal to rock F1 - 06 May 2006 A spying war has broken out at the Nurburgring, according to German reports. It is claimed that a communications specialist at F1 championship leader Renault has successfully tapped into Ferrari's encrypted radio systems - and Ferrari know about it. 'Bild' newspaper said the Flavio Briatore-led camp 'monitored every word' spoken by Ferrari's engineers and drivers throughout Friday, including secret technical and race strategy information. The Renault specialist is reportedly using a high-tech piece of equipment to do the spying, whose efforts could not be thwarted even by Ferrari changing its radio frequency several times. F1's governing body is apparently aware of the alleged saga, with an 'insider' at the FIA telling Bild: 'It is not a secret that the top teams invest a lot to obtain the information of other teams. 'But without strong evidence, we cannot intervene.' www.homeofsport.com First of all this article was posted in the Bild. Second, its Schu's home GP and the Germans, whom likes a dirty fight, will do anything to put the opposition in a bad light. Thirdly, why did they not tap into the BMW's or the Honda's as well? Lastly, if Ferrari is so scared of this happening why don't they use the military grade equipment the McLaren boys use? Oh, thats right, because they are naive and think that they have a monopoly on cheating. If the Renaults are doing it, everyone are doing it, even the nice little altarboys at Ferrari. You see yourself in others.

F1 FANatic 1 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 you cant all it cheating when every test and person assigned to test a part says its fair. how about Renault get rid of their electric starter, we could call that just as illigal as anything. if it isnt agains the rules then its isnt cheating, get over the fact that the Ferrari guys are just the best a pushing the rules without breaking them. rules are like a rubber band, you can strech it only so far and then it rips, well ferrari are streching it so far you start to see the rubber become brittle but its still holding so just get over the fact that they are just smarter contrary to common beleive, not every person in the world is born the same. some are just smarter, stronger. stop crying and go race like a man or leave, those are the options for Renault

Karta 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 You know, stating Ferrari only cheater? Well, i seem to recall certain Toyota affair recently for example. Speaking of Mclaren there was some airstrip testing reported (to avoid 30 days limit) or something, was it true or just a rumour? I really doubt there are any totally clean teams here. Ctrl300 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 Speaking of Mclaren there was some airstrip testing reported (to avoid 30 days limit) or something, was it true or just a rumour? I really doubt there are any totally clean teams here. Only a rumor with no foundation in reality. God Ferrari have one hel of an ego... Like they have a right to accuse anyone of cheating. Agree, they are treading on thin ice by even looking suspiciously on anyone.
cavallino 2 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 God Ferrari have one hel of an ego... Like they have a right to accuse anyone of cheating. When did Ferrari accuse anyone, its just a report and there is not even a 'Ferrari insider'quote Quite unlike some other teams who have been hypocritically and unfairly accusing Ferrari of cheating this year. ykickamoocow 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2006 When did Ferrari accuse anyone Ferrari accused Michelin of cheating afew years ago. The ironic thing is that when Michelin redesigned their tyres to meet the regulations they became several tenths faster. It wasnt the result Ferrari wanted.
