nichosnz 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 Hurrah for Spa. I see Bernie finally got his way over Indy. He wanted a June date right from the time Indy and San Fran (and others) will still campaining to be host. And he has the 4 Asian races paired off.
daz 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 I like it. Especially having Spa back!! Can't say I know but I'm hoping that the weather in Brazil is a lot better in late October than it is in the beginning of April.
pumpdoc 2 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 Start with 3 fly aways end with 3 fly aways that will put pressure on the teams at the end if it is close, plus the weather in Brazil is just as likely to be wet. F1 at Indy in June--good chance for showers or steamy hot, it's a whole diff. track than Sept. Bahrain, why??? same with Turkey, I just don't see a bunch Bahrain's getting all hyped up to watch cars getting sand blasted !! To think that in '05 they will dump-SPA?-IMOLA?-N'ring for a race in Turkey???? Why not go back to Mexico, they draw 180,000 for a CART race!!!! for Christ sakes. nichosnz 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2003 We have been told that Bahrain may attrect a few (richer) Arabs, as apparently Bahrain the only 'wet' country in the area.
Param 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2003 Nichos nailed it on the head. Bahrain is full of rich rich people. Plus you've got the Suadi royal family right next to them. Its going to be huge for those few rich Arabs to get richer. As for Turkey, they're going through an identity crisis. They desperately want to be a part of Europe. I mean come on they can't be a part of the European Union, so by having F1 there, they might get closer in their quest to be European.
