Actually Mike i have just ballsed up the exit of a fast left and run scarily wide. The video was taken on my normal camera, only lasts about 15 and aint that great. Spinning in a kart is unnerving...it happens so fast that it's over before you know what the heck happened! I just looked at my post earlier...dyslexia hitting me again...swap the right with left

Schumikonen 2 Report post Posted August 31, 2006 Maybe I hjave lost the plot of the thread, but Alonso said he was able to play with the revs, and said that he took a deliberate defensive/blocking approach into the last turn in case Michael had one last go. When asked about if he ever feared he would be caught in the straight he said he knew he had it under control. I dont know, but if 0.00021 of a second is under control he must be genius.Regardless, he drove a magnificent race, and he is, unlike what some here is claiming, a true champ. But we are talking about this just because two factors, Safety car right before pit stops and Ferrari's mistake (Not Schumi's) calling Massa fisrt, other way we would be hearing a lot of excuses of Alonso supporters and a lot of he is still ahead in the points. Do you remember Mikka Hakkinen crying when he lost the car because he was "playing" with the gears entering a corner, he said that he was all the race in second gear trought that croner and he decided to take it in fisrt gear, he spunt and lost the race and the WDC too, we could see that again this year just keep watching. Ferrari to blame for the mistakes MS made so he couldnt overtake Alonso on the 2nd stop aswell? I don't think theres many bush's in the last 4 races for MS to go cry in so i doubt it. Or Kimi going to Ferrari and doing the same to Michael but Michael will never let that happen!

I just found out that DiamlerChrysler owns some 10% of EADS, which again owns Airbus and has a 10% stake in Irkut, the Russian manufacturer of Stukoi rockets. For those who don't know they build the only reliable rockets in the world. Had it not been for them the members of international spacestation would have starved to death. So, on that news I recon that McLaren will become as reliable and fast as a Stukoi come 2007. Jem of the Shire 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2006 The McLaren is pretty reliable, when a certain Finn isn't driving it to pieces Had the argument a while ago but there's no way Kimi can be blamed for his car falling apart. Its a racing car designed for racing and if it cant handle it then it needs to be designed better. If you were at all right about this, I doubt ferrari renault and mclaren would all be fighting over him
Schumikonen 2 Report post Posted September 1, 2006 Abandoned MS already? If Alonso is so good why you want MS to retire, maybe you are feeling the pressure too or maybe you are Alonso, no mass damper for you. Schumi WDC five more times and then another contract for him when Alonso retires, he is not going to last if Kimi is his team mate, you will see. The McLaren is pretty reliable, when a certain Finn isn't driving it to pieces The only way he can do that is crashing and that's not the case, so will see the same with Alonso too. Lies, all lies! Schumikonen 2 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 As for your first point, Schumacher hasnt retired yet and still finds himself 12 points behind Alonso! Can you tell if you really think that those 12 points are because Alonso is so good or because of the team? The difference if because Ferrari and Brigestone were not at their best shape at the begining of the season, that's why Alonso is now saying that tyre will be the difference in WDC title, he is saying that is not because of him if he finally gets the title, so I don't know what you really mean with those 12 points. Autumnpuma 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2006 Funny how De La Rosa has technical failures then Not all of Kimi's failures have been his fault. My point was (and is) that he isn't a WDC because of a few bits of 'overdriving' in '05. My comment in this thread was obviously 'over-the-top' and teasing..... So a question to all those that hate Alonso.....if he does well in the McLaren, is it him doing well in a crap car or is the McLaren going to be miraculously fixed? So a question to all those that hate Alonso.....if he does well in the McLaren, is it him doing well in a crap car or is the McLaren going to be miraculously fixed? Good question. I expect him to bring a certain something with him. He will be expectant and McLaren will be keen to deliver for him. When Michael joined Ferrari the same thing happened. He wanted results, he expected results and Ferrari were desperate for them. The only difference is, at that particular time he was the best ahead of many (perhaps bar MH). In this case, if Kimi leaves some may see it as a second best replacement. He may well go there as a double champ but some may question whether he is totally deserving. if this proves to be true, he may not be to give Woking that indefinable lift back to greatness, He may have to rely solely on the technical expertise of the team. I would love to know the mindset in the team. Is it 'thank god he's coming' or is it 'let's see what he can do for us?'

Is it 'thank god he's coming' or is it 'let's see what he can do for us?' Were I McRon, I would expect no less than a champion's contribution in return for hiring a champion. Despite popular opinion, Alonso can set-up a car to his liking. If it were all his team doing it for him, I would think the team would be able to set Fisico up equally as well, to equally good results. I would guess the team is excited to have Alonso and I'm confident he will prove his worth. Will he win a championship with McLaren in '07? I'm not sure. There is some truth to the thought that only a superior car wins championships, regardless of driver, but there have been exceptions to that from time to time. I am eager to see how Alonso does, but not very optimistic his good results will be credited to him. Peaple may surprise me, though.....

If Fernando delivers relative to his team mate (even if he is expected to against PDLR) it will become too much of a coincidence even for the most ardent haters. I only hope that he can be patient and keep his head down (like Mika and Michael) to reap the rewards when they come. I only wish Kimi was going to be there to prove who is quickest and to show whether Kimi really is the car breaker you have deemed him.
