stopkidding 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 There is no launch control this year lads... There can be no electronic or mechanical driver aids to aid the launch for the first 100 meters of the start. Though I speculate those clever people at Renault have found a way around another vague FIA regulation. .

Though I speculate those clever people at Renault have found a way around another vague FIA regulation. . Something to control the wheelspin I would guess, as far as I know F1 cars are grip limited till about 120-150 kph, which is why their initial acceleration times are slower than some road cars, by 200 kph of course, they are well away. Not sure how the system works though I remember hearing that Renault's weight distribution plays a part. What is indisputable is the Renaults get away from the line better than any other car.
