c21 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2007 And we need more of that sort of thinking. Unfortunately the ever tightening straitjacket of technical regulations is going to make such innovation more difficult. (The entire rule book of the 1950 F1 World Championship was : "Engines shall be no more than 1500cc supercharged, or 4500cc unsupercharged".) OOOOh imagine that now with the technology we have! rumblestrip 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2007 I've seen covers like these on other non-F1 cars before. Audi used to run them, and on the inside they looked like a turbine. As they spun, they sucked air out and spat it out around the edge of the cover. The fresh air was fed to the inside of the wheel (probably at the caliper) by a duct.
