LONDON - Shell is to seal off the City of London and turn it into a mini Grand Prix-style racing circuit, as part of the filming of an ad highlighting its partnership with the Ferrari Formula One team.

I was bored so I found the British Airways ad from 1989 for you :D

I can just remember it, I was only 7 at the time it first went to air.

Wow, is it just me or is 2mil surprisely cheap for "the most expensive ad ever".

It's just you. 2,000,000, means a lot to me for just making an advert

What if you owed an F1 team that sent half a billion+ annually? Just dosent seem impressive in the context of F1 spending....surely American football's superbowl which is practically just a showcase for ad mania would feature more expensive ad's I would have thought.

I actually had to check twice it said mil and not bil.

Ya but in advertising 2 mil is a lot of money, in realtive terms to lets say Bill gates wealth or his daily earnings it is nothing but to me it still means a lot.

and if it still doesn't mean a lot to you, then can you please transfer me some of your nothing to my acc??? :P

I don't know, i'd have to have a comparrison. What is in second place?

Still sounds quite impressive though and it isn't suprising to see Shell with Ferrari still.
