la force supreme des mclaren 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Massa leads the way at Jerez Wednesday, February 7th 2007, 17:05 GMT Ferrari's Felipe Massa was quickest on the second day of testing at the Jerez circuit, where eight Formula One team are carrying out their programmes this week. The Brazilian driver, who yesterday was forced to miss the session after feeling unwell, returned to the c#ckpit of the Ferrari F2007 and emerged on top of the times with a best lap of 1:19.746. Massa beat teammate Kimi Raikkonen by three tenths of a second after the Finn lost a big part of his day due to a mechanical problem and then poor weather, with rain hitting the track in the afternoon. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was second quickest, with teammate Fernando Alonso, who joined the test today, finishing as fourth fastest behind the BMW Sauber of Robert Kubica. More to follow. 1. Player(1) 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 yes Ferrari are.... not Mclaren, they post their fast times on very light fuel... Sure the one doing 46 laps in total and for the last 40 minutes did a whole 3 lap stint is on the heavy fuel while the other does 109 laps is on low fuel. Makes alot of sense that, if you completely reject reality. Whatever makes you feel better. Here's something to think about, McLaren's are very competative on high fuel loads so they dont really gain major time advantages running low fuel so its pointless for testing when your trying to stress components with more then race conditions. McLaren has been very consistant with its runs and times so cant be on low fuel loads while we see Ferrari suddenly jump up the time's indicating they went low fuel atleast today and not really showing much advantage in pace for it, if they where low fuel before (they only did about half the laps McLarens would in most of the tests so far) then thats even worse for them. cavallino 2 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Here's something to think about, McLaren's are very competative on high fuel loads so they dont really gain major time advantages running low fuel. What crud, every car gains time running on low fuel, otherwise there is something damn wrong with the car.
cavallino 2 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Brad, I agree, Alonso should worry about his teammate before anything else. Someone could be in for a rude shock this year
Player(1) 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 What crud, every car gains time running on low fuel, otherwise there is something damn wrong with the car. gain major time McLaren gains alot less by running on fumes then other cars, didnt say they dont gain any time. It's why they fuelled them heavy for qualifying in 2006 until they realised theres a bigger chance of an accident running slightly deeper down the field rather then right at the top. goferrarigo 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2007 Massa above Kimi On the timesheet. i think due to the problem F errari finally returned to the top of the timesheets today, as Felipe Massa clocked a session-topping time of 1:19.746, putting the F2007 on top for the first time in its short history. On a day which saw rain in the afternoon, limiting meaningful track time for the teams, the Brazilian lapped less than a tenth faster than his nearest challenger, Lewis Hamilton, who finished on a time of 1:19.821. Today was Massa's first day on track, due of a bout of the 'flu which ruled him out of the first day's action. Team-mate Kimi R
