Enjoy AP ;)

Well as i thought Alonso has stopped the extreme turn in which was said to be his way of coping with the Renault rear weight bias cars and he's looking smoother and more percise then Kimi who has to saw at the wheel.

Thats interesting because commentary for the race on ITV had them talking about how drivable the Ferrari is over the other cars. As for Alonso's smoothness I think it's allowed because of McLaren's hightech and complex suspension system that has been way ahead of Renault's which should lead to more consistant and error free driving.

Q3 qualifying, pay attention to third last turn for him blasting the accelerator before he's even at the apex.

Interesting video. Kimi seems to take a wider line on entry than does Alonso but uses the same amount of track on exit. That's not especially enlightening, just interesting to note.

I'd like to see the actual speed they're going during those laps; I think you'll find Kimi's sawing at the wheel is to compensate for going faster on entry than Alonso. He's correcting for both under and oversteer at various times and that indicates he's got that car right on the edge rather than anything overly wrong with the Ferrari's handling. I like how smoothly Kimi was adjusting the brake bias. Very MS-like.

Alonso does indeed look smoother and that is certainly down to the difference between this year's McLaren over last year's Renault. As we can see with this year's Renault (which is an evolution of last year's) it still has a tendency to understeer on corner entry. Alonso was having to turn-in sharply to force the car to oversteer a bit on entry to compensate for the Renault's lack of 'pointiness'. The McLaren seems to have more front-end grip than did the Renault, so Alonso's turn-in has smoothed out. This video showed that Alonso wasn't quite on the edge but that was probably due to being extra careful with the machinery. As the races progress and his confidence builds, I expect him to creep back to that edge.
