Melandri on pole!!!

Well,quite not,but he was a close 16th!! :P

For those involved in the Marco Melandri debate on his current somewhat complex situation at Ducati, he was 2.1 seconds off the pace of Casey in the second pracitce session. But in saying that, Casey was seven tenths faster than his next rival in Alex de Angelis.

Exactly the difference in the official quali. :D

Congratulations to Casey on racking up his third win in a row :clap3:

Dani, you poor bugger, but thanks for closing up the Championship

Chris, you are the MotoGP wet weather specialist, awesome ride to third.

Let's see if Pedrosa can compete in Laguna Seca...he's already in the US but he's waiting for the doctor's approval...

And... the best race this season! Absolutely breathtaking and to top it off Rossi wins :D

That was a great duel, and I really wanted them to keep it up to the finish line.

Rossi and Stoner - both incredible.

Best race ever.WOW.This is the kind of show that you can't see with Pedrosa.Stoner and Rossi:hats off.

Lorenzo:pathetic.

Typical pre-race interview: -yeah I didn't have a good feeling in Germany and I knew the weekend was going to end badly, but today I expect a very good result.I feel strong and confident on the bike..blah blah

I'm buying a Rossi t-shirt to celebrate.Do you know kukuxumusu,Freaky?(A basque clothes brand)

It was a very good first half.

Still, the feeling was that the best Rossi could do was to keep Sotner back... which means that Stoner still has the upper hand. Rossi won't be able to do this every race. The need to improve at Yamaha or the WC is lost...

Yeah it's true

I'm buying one with a Rossi drawing.

For example, this one is the one with Marilyn Monroe.

(All their drawings are cows,sheep...etc)

Laguna Seca was a most fantastic race indeed :D

I still think Rossi is the king of MotoGP, but Stoner is awesome, what a great era we have! People will probably look back at that battle and recognise it as being between the greatest ever and another all time great.

As one of the Eurosport commentators said - 'Lorenzo is running out of lives'. He's proving to be quite expensive for Yamaha.

Anyone watch the Spanish GP today at Jerez? What a bore. I thought I'd give motoGP a chance cos 1 of my work colleagues is really into it, but the whole thing was 1 big procession, there were 2 or 3 passing moves in the whole race and 1 rider fell off. Apart from that it was terrible. Rossi won and started showing off with stunt-rider moves, but i doubt i'll tune in again

IF YOU DID NOT SEE THE LAGUNA SECA YOU MUST REGRET IT....

THE RACE WAS SO HOT STONER WAS REBUKED BY HIS TEAM MANAGER AFTER WARD FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BEST OVERTAKING IN HISTORY... THE YANKS DONT LIKE WIMPS... BUT GUESS WHO WON IT... IF YOU WANT TO SEE OVERTAKING AND A CLOSE TITLE CHASE... MMM...

Casey was held back... muscle back even.

And he lost his cool.

We can't say about the future, but Rossi got to him in Laguna, all right.

MotoGP was boring at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca compared to the Red Bull Rookies Cup. Margin of victory? 0.0008 seconds. YouTube it.

Bah, it ain't about the margin of victory, it's about the guys who are battling, and you can't get better than Rossi and Stoner.

LIES! Did they try to kill eachother by banging elbows? Hell no. Benny Solis and Leandro Mercado did. And they're both like 8 years old, which makes them even godlier than Lewis. Sorry, 0.0008 takes the cake any day, unless we're talking about the 0.0005 Indy Lights win Logan Gomez pulled off last year.

And aren't you the man who said something to the extent of "close finishes are cool" back in early June? Yep, you are. :P

Am I? I mean really? 'Cos I sure can't remember

Anyway it's good to know my posts are burned into your memory, (vote Obama, vote Obama, vote Obama, actually I know nothing about politics and don't care who you vote for, as long as you vote Obama).

Oh and yeah that sounds like a really cool close finish actually, but I don't know a channel here who shows those races.

 You did. I have a good memory. And I agree. Vote Obama.

(You'll have to try harder; I'm the lone liberal American around here :P )

They don't show them here, either. The YouTube video is just highlights; SPEEDTV put it on some show I guess. I'm not a big bike guy, but Laguna Seca certainly put on a good show in the feature and the support races. Always does, though. CART at Laguna was wicked p**sa.

Oh by the way...

Coolness. All hail close finishes. I see Eric is a big Kyle Busch fan!

Damn I'm good...
