If there are any mistakes then I'll change it as soon as I'm made aware. Thought including links would help when everything starts to get confusing and including contracts will help in future years, although not all are made public knowledge (at least not without detailed hunting).

I think Alonso's on a 3 year contract with McLaren. I remember thinking it would be great if Alonso waited for Kimi to choose a team first next time then Alonso goes and joins him there because both their contracts are up on the same year.

i'm not so sure that its a wise plan to try and have the most challenging team-mate possible, if you're trying to win world championships! It would be great though because it would hopefully settle the war between the fan armies.

Does 1 person really constitute a army :D

I hope De La Rosa gets a Drivers spot in F1! He's done enough in Friday testing last season & this season, he's done enough personal testing! He's deserved a proper drivers spot for years but did'nt get 1 with a good enough team!

Can you remember where you may have read it? I'll go source hunting again soon, I found Massa's contract on motorsport, but not many others. :)

Trulli's last year on his current Toyota contract is in 2008.

I'll see if I can track down and article for you Kay :D

Thanks, got a few more bits on there now, soon going to be so complex! Trying to keep it to drivers who have admitted / teams who have admitted some sort of talks, not just the PR rubbish. It's hard to tell them apart sometimes though.

He's too old now, he's about 35. Plus he didnt really do anything special at all last year and got his butt kicked by Eddie Irvine at Jaguar

That may be perfect for Prodrive though; experience. As long as they partner him with an new, young driver.

He doesn't have that much racing experience though, he's done much more testing. Prodrive could do better.

You missed what Kay was saying. He's tested for Mclaren for yonks now, and he has so so much experience that maybe Prodrive would be mad not to hire him to get them started up! He isnt a particularly great driver but he isnt awful. A 1 yr contract would be what Prodrive would do I expect if they did indeed hire him!

But they're buying a chassis from McLaren, they don't really need that much test experience, they just need 2 racers for season 1, IMO.

Agree

I guess that we will have all the answers about Prodrive at the Silverstone weekend in July.

actually i suppose Pedro in a 2007 mclaren chassis might not be too bad, because he would know the car so well and knows how a top team works. I expect Prodrive drivers probably wont even be decided until late in the year

Yep. I believe DR said so in a recent interview.

Yep. It's in F1 Racing, where they will annouce both sponsors and drivers at Silverstone.

Not necessarily. A lot of drivers are signed a long time before they are announced.

yes but not to a brand new team who will probably be using second-hand mclaren chassis! I expect 1 or both drivers will be a sportscar driver who has worked with prodrive before. I cant imagine any half-decent current F1 star is going to go to Prodrive

I wouldnt be surpised to see Ralf Schumacher at Prodrive next year though i wouldnt exactly call him a decent driver.

I may be wrong, but didn't JV sign with BAR quite sometime before they were in F1?

He was always going to be one of the drivers as he was one of the founders of the team.

Getting Ralf would be fantastic for Prodrive, his knowledge & experience (and occasional speed) would be just what they need

I may be wrong, but didn't JV sign with BAR quite sometime before they were in F1?

Yes but thats the only high-profile example and JV was naive enough to think that he could actually win BAR's first ever race, whereas with Prodrive you know you're going to be mid-grid at best
