Kay 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 Some events so far: David Coulthard has spun and is beached in the gravel at Brooklands. DC climbs out and walks away from the RB3. A JCB digger comes into the graveltrap to recover the car. Replay : David lost the rear end on entry to the left-hander, corrected that but the rears bit into the track and round it went the other way into the gravel. The wind is causing huge problems for the drivers. Now we see Adrian Sutil undersster plain off the road and wide at Copse corner, and onto the extra tarmac area, he continues. Yers the wind and gusts are catching out the drivers all over the place. A few minutes ago we saw Mark Webber nearly lose his RB3 in three consecutive corners through running wide, and just before the Sutil incident Lewis Hamilton was also caught out and had the rear end twitch on him. Jarno Trulli has spun in Club corner. Reoplay coming... wow, strange. Ok, first we notice huge understeer entering the Vale. Massive understeer. Jarno gets round the Vale, turns into Club and deliberately keeps rapidly tightning right steering lock probably to get some tyre temperature into his front tyres, they are giving no grip at all. He's then coming round the final part of the corner with the steering wheel now at a normal steering angle.......and the rear end comes round inexplicably. Jarno got going again with no damage. Kimi looking the better of the two Ferrari guys currently.

Hapankaalimies 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 I was getting bored when after 25 minutes nobody had done anything. But eventually Ferraris and Mclarens did a formidable amount of laps (some of them were even shown on telly when they didn't give us a look in the new Red Bull livery). According to our (finnish) pitlane reporter Massa had on one of his stints wet tyres in front and normal hard tyres at the back same time. I don't know if this is really true but they speculated that Massa was finding out how long wet tyres last in dry weather... He also did one of his fastest laps with this setting here are all the times and numbers of laps driven by everyone. 1. Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1.21,100 24 kierrosta 2. They said Kimi has gone fastest in such a glum voice. I find it very strange that you find it hard to support a British Team and Driver in LH & McLaren, especially given that I assume you are British yourself. I guess it's a reflection of society these days and the apparent lack of patriotism in the UK. Oh well

Hapankaalimies 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 Ok second practice is now over and Kimi topped the timesheets with 1.20.639 to Massas 1.21.138. Mclaren was more conservative with Hamilton fourth 1.21.381 and Alonso sixth with 1.21.616. Toyota was doing surprisingly good and Ralf finally is starting to live up to his position as one of the three best drivers in Formula 1 . He lapped 1.21.381 and was exactly on level with Hamilton but third couse he did his lap earlier. Trulli was fifth. Adrian Sutil spun in the first corner and took contact with the wall (he was the last man with about 3 seconds behind R

Hapankaalimies 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 lovely lovely True. That list would be perfect for the qualifying if only renault would be inside the top 10 Alexander Wurz was surprisingly good as he only lost a couple of hundredths to Nico. I wonder if Mclaren only wanted to show they haven't gained anything from the spying episode
