Take away all the constructor points, no fines and no extra weight for the next season...

Whenever handing down fines, FIA makes itself look so money hungry.

Couldn't agree anymore..if there is a REAL PROOF they are guilty take constructor points away..it's a punishment big enough and it wouldn't sound Ferrari biased. Drivers shouldn't be affected, since, when Schumacher did that dirty trick to JV at Jerez '97 he lost all his points but his team wasn't affected. This time it's the team that is involved so the team has to be judged not the drivers

Try to be objecttive and leave any bias...

Shouldn't the drivers aslo be penealised as they got points because they had the better car, without which they wouldn't have gooten those points?

It would need CERTAIN proof that they used information...but the famous 166 pages dossier seems a little bit confusing, just trying to show that Alonso's e-mails with De La Rosa matched Coughlan and Stepney's phone calls (it seems Alonso never refers directly to Stepney in the mails)...Come on, there is no chance McLaren was trying the secrets from Stepney with only Stepney, Coughlan and maybe De La Rosa knowing it!

Brawn among F1 faces as spy hearing starts

Sep.13 (GMM) Ross Brawn was one of the smartly-dressed familiar faces who turned up at the FIA's Paris headquarters on Thursday morning for the spy saga hearing.

Ferrari sources confirmed that the former technical director, who is currently on a sabbatical but touted to return to the Italian marque next year, will appear at the team's request as a witness.

Lewis Hamilton and Pedro de la Rosa, unfamiliarly dressed in suits, also entered the building in Place de la Concorde with the large McLaren entourage, with rookie championship leader Hamilton telling the media huddle that he was there because "we are a team".

Fernando Alonso, meanwhile, was some 300kms away at Spa-Francorchamps, where he is scheduled to participate in the FIA press conference ahead of the Belgian grand prix.

He will be one of only a few senior McLaren figures at the circuit, with team co-owner Mansour Ojjeh, managing director Jonathan Neale, team boss Ron Dennis and Mercedes' Norbert Haug all in Paris.

Also involved in the extraordinary World Motor Sport Council hearing are the FIA's Charlie Whiting and Max Mosley, Ferrari principal Jean Todt and F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone

McLaren looking down the barrel it seems. This could have a major impact on the decision

If they are deducting points i'm wondering on what base are they going to do it. And how many? Any idea guys?

In this aspect an exclusion would seem logical :eusa_think:

No think of this as battle with Spyker and STR....

Should the drivers be penealised if the car was made faster due to some cheating?
