Alonso The Great.

Recommended Posts

Lets make this clear.

- First year in this new car, against a rookie that has all the team behind him, with a team build for him, now Alonso is only 2 points behind.

- The harder is yet to come since we already see that there will be very little testing ahead for Alonso, the team says yes you can test, but do you want to go to work when all your bosses hate you?!? Don't expect much testing from now on.

- The boss hates you because you told of the truth! Well, well, I'm now very curious to know the real truth, we all know that R.Dennis is hiding key secrets and that he's a cheater.

- About Hamilkid, we now see that the little boy is starting to panic and is very nervous.

If Alonso wins this title, he will certainly be deserving it and will probably have worked twice as much as Hamilkid for it!!

!!Go Alonso Go!!

It looks to me like they really get equal support. Alonso's car is reliable and fast, and his team seems genuinely happy when he performs. I believe Alonso got off lightly with no championship points deduction, as he and DLarosa was the cause of using Ferrari information...

Please get off that high horse, and pray that the team DON'T intervene in some funny way, cause he actually deserves it!

After the race it emerged that Alonso deepened divisions at his besieged team by offering the mechanics working on his car a bonus of €1,000 (

With respect to LH, he's not a that innocent in this spygate affair.

As for the title....well at least we will see some racing between Mclaren's and Ferrari's.

I think that is true as well....

Just how kimi's confession came out a few days after, i think we will hear hamilton's involvment afterwards as well....

One thing is that Alonso can performe under pressure (and it is FIA-gate, my team hates me, I hate the team, Hamilton is the golden child, etc pressure)!! The last GPs he has performed on the race pretty flawless, unlike Hamilton.

If I'm honest I would rather Kimi won than title than Nando.

With my bias I would love for Kimi to get up!!!

Well one thing I can say without doubt is that had the FIA not pulled that joke of a penalty on Alonso in Hungary, Alonso would have won the race instead of Lewy and would be in control of the championship... The FIA always put themselves first ;)

It seems to me that they get equal treatment, and Alonso is now starting to genuinly show Hamilton some real driving class (it's about time he showed some class somewhere this season)!

Alonso will most likely take the title, and good on him!

But if he stays at Mclaren next year, the rookie will be more experienced and will be even stronger (Alonso to Renault for 08)...

I started the season supporting Alonso, I always preferred him - now though im cheering for Lewis, I can understand it perfectly but Alonso just seems like a whining bitch when things don't go his way. He is a good enough driver to suck it up and go racing.

I also don't believe any of this crap that says mclaren don't share setup data between drivers, makes no sense at all from any perspective and wouldn't be equal neither.

I believe it. I tmakes sense from Alonso's perspective. Each driver has their own race engineer, don't forget. Division between two halves of the garage within an equal status team is common place.

Just to enhance your perspective, I would suggest you to read Lewis last comments on Spa. If you can't stand drivers being "whining bitches when things don't go their way" I would then suggest you to support some other driver, instead of Lewis or Alonso.

Of course, you can go the fanboi route and think that Lewis has every right to moan and whine when things don't go his way, but Alonso doesn't.

Hamiltons done it once, Alonso did it last year as well as this year....

Maybe because he is a rookie! :P

Anyways, the way he whined this last time (including the now infamous phrase ""It's been a tough week, for sure a lot tougher week for me than for Fernando because...I won't say any more.") shows he is learning very fast for a rookie. Best rookie whining in ages, I might say. Perhaps he learnt fast because Alonso and him shared whining setups. From now on he will have to make his own whining, though. Maybe we will see a sudden dip in his whining material, but he is still young and promising. ;)

Alonso did well at Spa (I still hope he gets buggered by a spanner, but he drove well...). The only interesting action on-track happened between the two McLaren boys. Drivers' complaints are of no interest to me. I watch the racing, not the b!tching.

To answer a question from somewhere above, after Hungary McLaren gave Alonso the option to keep his telemetry and, perhaps, set-up data secret. I don't know if this has continued, however.

Yeah, but to be fair, although Alonso is a whiner, he's not an original whiner, now is he? Apparently he asks De La Rosa to check out his whines first, who is happy to do so, because that little whiner took his seat. When De La Rosa really wants some good whines he contacts the McLaren chief whiner, who contacts Ferrari's chief whiner who lets him know how the Ferrari boys would whine.

He did apologise for his whining, something which Alonso has never done....

Well, yes! Alonso is a 2 times WDC (Whining Driver's Champion) after all. He has the experience! Things gone awry, though, when a Ferrari emplyee passed a 780 page manual with all the secrets about Ferraris whines. Apparently, things went like this:

FA: Pedro, it would be very important if we could get our hands on Ferrari's whinings. Things will get tough and I need to know how to whine in the following races.

PDLR: No problem, Nando, Mike has just passed me the info. They are going for two moanings and cries of unfairness in the next race.

FA: Good. Now I will see with my engineer if we should go for a single long whine or make two short ones.

PDLR: We should run it through the simulator.

FA: Ok. Let me know how it goes.

Lewis, meanwhile, was worried. His "the team has done a fantastic job" strategy didn't adapt well to the last tracks. As Nando didn't let him see his whining strategy, he decided to contact other guys with expertise: he went for Fisichella and Trulli.

When this all went public, Dennis denied it: "We never used any of Ferrari's whinings in our cars. We have our own specialists for that. Maybe some of them acted wrong, but you can't prove we copied Ferrari".

The FIA, after receiving some evidence in contrary (namely, Alonso complained that "he does not feel supported by Jean Todt") decided that McLaren actually used Ferrari's material.

The rest of the story is well-known.
