Pascal Wehrlein had a spectacular crash at Race of Champions as he rolled after colliding with Felipe Massa following their race.

Sauber's Pascal Wehrlein has confirmed he will miss the upcoming first pre-season test in Barcelona.

GP2 star Antonio Giovinazzi, recently signed up as a Ferrari reserve driver, will instead test alongside Marcus Ericsson in Sauber's C36 during the first week of testing.

Wehrlein has been forced to sit out the test due to the back injury sustained in January's Race of Champions event when he was involved in a collision with the car of Williams veteran Felipe Massa

The first pre-season test takes place at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya, from February 27 to March 2.
