Hamilton buzzing after successful week in Spain

Hamilton buzzing after successful week in Spain

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes were asked plenty of questions ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. After a 1-2 in Sunday’s race, and a successful 2 days of testing, the German outfit have smashed the ball back into Ferrari’s court!

Normally downbeat about testing, Lewis Hamilton seemed quite the opposite when speaking to the media in Spain.

“It was a good day and a relatively interesting test, I’m glad we did it,” Lewis Hamilton told Sky Sports.

The Silver Arrows were asked, by the FIA, to trial two rear lights on either side of the rear-wing endplates. Without making it sound too much like a disco, the set-up looks like it will be beneficial in the rain.

Mercedes also focused on engine development, set-up work and correlated performance between a wind tunnel and the track.

“We got through a large programme and did 151 laps, which is a good sign of reliability,” the Championship leader added.

“I’m looking forward to Monaco; hopefully we can take some of the things we’ve learned onto there.”

The Brit is going to have to continue his attack for his 5th World title. The way this season is going, Ferrari has the ability to catch them up again.

Going into Monaco, the questions are stacked on the Italians. A poor performance for them could signal a Mercedes run away.
