Alonso making a move to Ferrari? Meanwhile Kimi wants a 2019 deal

Fernando Alonso has been rumoured to make a move back to Ferrari as the rumour picks up the pace in Monaco. The deal is expected to be for 2019. Alonso hasn't won a race since driving for Ferrari four years ago. All this is sparking off whilst Kimi is hinting at signing a 2019 deal.

Alonso made the decision to move from Ferrari in 2014. He spent four years at the Italian team and has been driving a struggling McLaren ever since. The Spaniard is still, and will still be under contract, but it's believed he has 'out' clauses at the end of each season.

McLaren's Zak Brown commented on the rumour and as expected, he disguised a straight-forward answer.

"I think our situation is the same as everyone's," said McLaren's executive.

"We're all talking to our drivers, and probably talking to each other's drivers to a certain extent up and down the pitlane," he added.

"We're now back in Europe, and it's usually around the summertime that things start really taking shape as far as our conversations with Fernando. I think he'll let us know what he wants to do pretty soon," said Brown.

Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen has expressed his interests in racing next season. He explains how he still enjoys racing and wants to continue until that enjoyment runs out.

"It depends on the team and they know exactly what I want. I do not drive in formula one if I do not have fun," he said.

"The pleasure of driving is the only thing that keeps me here.

"The decision is influenced by many things, but at least my passion for racing will not disappear from this moment to the end of the season," Raikkonen added who will be 39 when F1 returns to Australia in 2019.
