Jacques Villeneuve has responded to Niki Lauda's comments in which he compared Max Verstappen and Gilles Villeneuve, saying it's a "real insult" to him and his father.

It's safe to say that Villeneuve isn't Max Verstappen's biggest fan, as he previously stated that the Dutchman is still a child and overrated. When Niki Lauda compared Verstappen to Gilles Villeneuve, the legendary driver as well as Jacques' father, the Canadian had enough.

"I heard what Lauda said, it's a real insult," Villeneuve told Le Journal de Montréal.

"Lauda probably still has issues that he had to make room for my father at Ferrari."

The 1997 world champion sees more differences than comparisons between his father and the 20-year-old Verstappen.

"My father took a lot of risks but he always learned from his mistakes.

"He also had a lot of respect for his colleagues, which is something I don't see with Verstappen."

We're still not sure what Verstappen has done to make Villeneuve dislike him this much, but it looks like he takes every opportunity he gets to fire a shot towards the Dutchman.
