Mercedes were one of the few teams who had no engine upgrade installed in Canada, and Valtteri Bottas thinks that the upgrades can't be delayed any more.

The original plan was to install an upgrade in Canada, but the Silver Arrows ran into a problem which meant that it had to be delayed. It has to be there next race if Mercedes want to keep within distance of Sebastian Vettel, Bottas knows.

"We need it [the upgrade] definitely," Bottas told Racer.

“Since lap one [Ferrari] really seemed to be a bit quicker all the time.

"They could control the race and were really pushing on it and we got into a little bit of trouble in the end, running out of fuel; that’s why Max got close in the end.

"Maybe from pole it could have been different, but from P2 we maxed out. I’m happy for that but I’m not happy that we were behind.”

Knowing Mercedes, they'll probably bounce back and dominate the entire European stint now, so I wouldn't be worried if I were a Mercedes fan.
