Helmut Marko, Red Bull's motorsport advisor, ensures Brendon Hartley's future is not in doubt despite huge first-lap crash at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Hartley's car went into the barriers in Montreal after trying to overtake Lance Stroll in the opening lap.

The Toro Rosso driver hasn't had the best start in his first full year in F1 and rumours of Lando Norris to replace him mid-season, added to the pressure.

Hartley has just one point after seven races, but Marko says that the driver's future is not in doubt.

"It was, what I would say, a racing accident, and has nothing to do about his future," Marko told Motorsport.com.

"He will be in the car."

Hartley was the quicker out of the Toro Rosso drivers in practice and stressed his hope that he would compete in a clean weekend and add points to his low tally.

The New Zealand international was taken to hopsital but was given the all-clear on Sunday evening.

Hartley went on to say that he was "ready for the next race", that's in France in a fortnite.

"I'm really disappointed for Toro Rosso and Honda, because we've been quite strong all weekend with a good update from the power unit," Hartley said.

"It's a frustrating way to end as I've been really happy with my performance all weekend."
