Renault are set to use a new front wing at next weekend's German Grand Prix.

Renault are set to introduce a new front wing for their R.S. 18 at Hockenheim next weekend.

The French outfit hope this upgrade benefits them in the race for fourth place in the Constructors' Championship.

Renault have scored points in every single race bar one this season to already ensure more points this season than last.

They lead Haas by 19 points in the race for fourth place, with Force India and McLaren not far behind Haas.

The wing is set to be used for the first time in practice next week on Friday.

Renault's Chassis Technical Director Nick Chester said to MotorsportWeek:

"It'll look a bit different, a bit different on the cone area and flap area.

"It'll have slightly different characteristics, it will change the bias in corner entry in medium and high-speed corners, so it's an interesting test for us.

"Hopefully it'll bring a bit of performance to the car, often when you change front wing characteristics you can't be sure before you test it."

Chester also confirmed that this will more than likely be Renault's last major change to the front end of its car before revised regulations come in next season.

"It's probably (the final 2018 front update) just because of the lead time," Chester confirmed.

"By the time you develop it and build it it'll be late in the year.

"There may be tweaks, but tweaks as opposed to a brand new wing."
