Sergey Sirotkin says he is hoping that the return to Hockenheim will represent a change in fortune for Williams. The Grove-based outfit has had an awful 2018 and currently sit rock bottom of the constructor standings as their season is yet to get going.

Sirotkin is yet to score any points in Formula One as we approach the halfway stage of the season but he does have high hopes for what he might achieve at the German Grand Prix, saying that it should suit their car far more.

“I have very good memories from Hockenheim,” he said.

“I like this track, and it should suit our car better than other tracks have done.

“It will be exciting to see what our recent upgrades can bring us before the summer break,” he added, with Williams set to unleash a wrath of new updates in the hopes of clawing their way back towards the midfield battle.

“It will be an important weekend for the team and I am looking forward to it.”

Williams will be hoping of a repeat of their last result at Hockenheim, with Valtteri Bottas picking up two points with a ninth-placed finish back in 2016.
