Charles Leclerc has confirmed he is aiming to win the World Championship with Ferrari. He went on to say if he does, he will try everything he can to win the title so he can dedicate it to Jules Bianchi.

Bianchi was in the drivers' academy for Ferrari and was expected to replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari. However, following his accident at the Japanese Grand Prix, Bianchi passed away.

Leclerc, current Sauber driver has been ripping the mid-field up over recent weeks. He has managed to get into Q3 more than once and score multiple top 10 finishes. In an interview with crash net, he explains how Bianchi provided such a pivotal role in his career.

“He was extremely important. My father and his father were best friends, our families are extremely close,” Leclerc said.

“I drove for the first time karting on his track, and he was there. Then I think we were meeting up every Wednesday and weekends just to drive rental karting. These are probably the best memories I have in racing.

“He was older than me, so you always push yourself to beat him. But he was more than a mentor. He was also an extremely close friend.

“If one day I have the chance to be there, I will try to do everything I possibly can to win the titles that he deserved to win.”
