Villeneuve claims modern F1 cars are too easy to drive

Former Formula 1 driver Jacques Villeneuve is often in the news for his harsh comments and today is no different. The Canadian has expressed his opinion that F1 cars are too easy to drive in 2018 and looks at the youth in the sport to back his point up.

Max Verstappen is probably one of the drivers Villeneuve is looking at for an example. The Dutchman is only 20 years old and already has 72 Grands Prix under his belt. Charles Leclerc could be another example. In his interview on the official F1 podcast, he slams the current cars.

"If an eighteen-year-old driver can race Formula 1, and after ten rounds can already run competitive times, then something is wrong with the sport. I was broken after my first day and was more than a second slower. The current cars are ultra-complex in terms of technology, but they are not difficult to drive because they are incredibly stable," Villeneuve said.

Perhaps he's just jealous, but he also went on to say how honest he always is!

"If I notice that something is not fair, then I must defend myself. However, people know that I am always honest," added Villeneuve. Let us know in the comments if you agree with the 1997 World Champion!
