Wolff warns to "not forget about Red Bull" in title race

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is not thinking about championship celebrations just yet, as the Austrian knows the performances between Mercedes and Ferrari can vary from track to track.

Mercedes did an incredible job at Monza last weekend, going into Ferrari's backyard and stealing the race from them. The Italian team were quickest all weekend long and the heavy favourites after locking out the front row during qualifying, but due to Bottas holding off Raikkonen and Vettel shooting himself in the foot, Mercedes walked away with the win.

"There are seven more Grands Prix on the calendar and I can't predict what's going to happen," Wolff told Speedweek.

"We're on the same level as Ferrari and the levels of performance differ on every track.

"Sometimes we're two tenths ahead, sometimes we're two tenths behind."

Next, the F1-circus travels to Singapore, and that is a circuit where Red Bull can upset both championship leading teams. Wolff knows this, as Mercedes won't be favourites in the night race.

"We can't forget about Red Bull in this scenario.

"In Singapore, Red Bull is absolutely competitive and this makes our fight with Ferrari even less predictable."

The Silver Arrows do lead both championships as it stands, but a strong run from Ferrari could completely flip the script. Such a run is not unthinkable either, as the Italians have the better package this season, but a string of mistakes has cost them one time too many.
