Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is looking forward to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next week, even though he conceded that the straights on the circuit will be disadvantageous for his car.

Verstappen has been very strong in recent races to say the least. After an incredible drive in the United States that saw him finish second after starting in P18, he won the Mexico Grand Prix the week after, and almost made it two wins in a row for the first time in his career in Brazil last week. He was leading the race, but an incident with backmarker Esteban Ocon saw him spin around and lose the lead to Lewis Hamilton, who went on to win the race.

Despite his red-hot form, Verstappen doesn't fancy himself to win. Still, he looks forward to the occasion.

"After a few busy races, I think everyone is looking forward to Abu Dhabi," the 21-year-old said on his own website.

"The nice weather and the relaxed atmosphere in the paddock make everybody smile."

As for the track itself, he was still positive, although he did realize the track isn't ideal for the Bulls' car.

"There are a few straights that don't exactly suit our car, but we try to make up for that in the twisty sectors.

"After the race, the team can relax a bit and have some well-deserved rest.

"We'll test in the days, of course, but on Monday I will certainly try to chill and enjoy the sun.

"Before we know it we'll be testing again and we'll be working hard in the winter for 2019, something which I'm looking forward to."
