Hamilton seeks improvements to become "all-time great"

World champion Lewis Hamilton has insisted his desire to become Formula One's "all-time great" and has asked his Mercedes team to send him some "blunt" email feedback on what he can do better in 2019.

Hamilton won 11 races in 2018 on his way to a fifth world championship to equal Juan Manuel Fangio's tally of five drivers' titles.

However, the Mercedes man is always keen to improve and has requested feedback from his team so he can try to improve in 2019, as he looks to get one step closer to Michael Schumacher's record of seven world titles.

"This next month, I'm going to sit down and figure out where I can be better," Hamilton said at the team sponsor's Hewlett-Packard event recently. "I asked my team to send me an email from several different departments, asked them to be blunt.

"They don't even need to tell me who the email's from, just tell me the things (they) think I can improve on. If there's been a certain experience this year you felt that could be better or something, I've said that's swayed the energy within the team.

"Because I'm looking to be the all-time great and that means winning in all areas."

In the first half of the season Sebastian Vettel pushed Hamilton quite hard, but the German's form worsened as the season went on.
