George Russell has admitted it feels like he's been at his new team, Williams, "for a long time".

Russell won the Formula 2 world championship last season; beating McLaren's Lando Norris and Toro Rosso's Alexander Albon - and now he is preparing for his rookie season in Formula 1.

When the announcement was made that Russell would be driving for Williams in 2019, the young driver has spent a lot of time in Grove, trying to get used to all kinds of things in order to perform strongly from the off next season.

Russell has insisted he already feels at home at Williams.

"I think that was vital to be honest, to spend the grands prix before with Williams, more just to get to know everybody," Russell mentioned to F1i. "I am more comfortable to explain my feelings.

"We've already had that introduction stage with all of the team, so I was really happy to do that. It already feels like we've been working together for a long time."

Williams endured an abysmal 2018 season; finishing rock-bottom in the constructors' championship - scoring a grand total of seven points with Sergey Sirotkin and Lance Stroll driving for them.

Well this season, they have a brand new line-up. Joining Russell is former F1 driver Robert Kubica - who is finally making his return to the sport.
