Nico Hulkenberg has set his sights on winning a race/achieving his first ever podium with his Renault team.

Hulkenberg has an unwanted record of not achieving a podium finish in his Formula 1 career.

Renault has become the latest team to announce a launch date for its 2019 car - with the French works team has set its goal to get closer to the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull this year.

Italy's Autosprint has quoted Hulkenberg saying he wants to stay with Renault until he gets his "first podium and victory".

Hulkenberg will be joined by Daniel Ricciardo next season and he has revealed how he felt when he heard the news of the Red Bull man joining up with him at the French team.

"When I heard that Daniel will be my team-mate, I was destroyed - I cried," Hulkenberg joked. "No, I'm good. I heard about it a day before it was announced and it was good news."

France's L'Equipe has revealed the new Renault car will be launched on February 12.
