Red Bull say they didn't clash car reveal with Mercedes on purpose

09-02-2019 13:29

Mercedes and Red Bull will both reveal their cars on Wednesday February 13th, both at Silverstone.

Mercedes were the first to announce this date, with Red Bull following suit soon after, but Red Bull have denied that this was done on purpose.

Mercedes, the reigning constructors’ champions announced a ‘roll out’ test for its new runner before, conveniently, Red Bull did the same.

There will be a lot of eyes on the Red Bull reveal, with Honda their new engine supplier for 2019.

Dr Helmut Marko strongly denied that their release was to upstage or take attention away from Mercedes.

He told Auto Bild: "That was just because our car was finished two days later than planned.

"We will be driving on different parts of the track, so it should not be a problem."
