Alfa Romeo Racing have officially unveiled their C38 in the pitlane of Circuit de Catalunya, just ahead of the kickoff of pre-season winter testing at the same circuit.

Alfa Romeo had already performed a shakedown of its car at Mugello, a Ferrari test circuit in Italy, but the reveal at Barcelona also displays the car's new livery, continuing with the shiny burgundy red along with white, as in 2018.

This year's drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and rookie Antonio Giovinazzi were visibly proud of their new machine, just 40 minutes ahead of the circuit's green light to go testing.

The car features a number of highly interesting technical details, especially the front wing, which is far from a conventional design, and pretty different from what others teams have come up with on their cars - more about that later in our technical section.

Similarly, the team continued to develop last year's nose concept, increasing the apertures at the tip of the nose to try to reduce drag and direct airflow to where it is most useful while remaining within the boundaries of the regulations.

Kimi Raikkonen will kick off testing with the Alfa Romea C38 at Barcelona. Team mate Antonio Giovinazzi gets his first test of the car on Tuesday.
