Lance Stroll impressively bounced back from his Q1 exit on Saturday to take ninth place and score two points on his debut for Racing Point, and had some good news for fans after the race.

We’ve talked about the new rules a lot over the winter, with the new simple front wings and wider rear wings meant to reduce turbulence and allow cars to follow each other more easily, and the Canadian driver believes that this was the case in Melbourne.

He told Sky Sports F1: "A great race, picked up some points and had good pace.

"It was tight, there was not a lap when I was not pressuring someone or was under pressure. We want to see wheel-to-wheel racing and it looks like the racing could be closer and that could make it more exciting."
