Leclerc will "make himself felt" but won't make a fuss

Former F1 driver Christian Danner believes Charles Leclerc won’t make a fuss at his new Ferrari team but insists he’ll “make himself felt” as the pressure ramps up with the controversial team orders taking centre stage.

Ferrari have not been able to crack the early season dominance of Mercedes with their best finish of P3 in China and Bahrain. Leclerc was unlucky not to win the Bahrain Grand Prix, after his car short-circuited in the closing stages of the race, however, a series of team orders in Australia and China have denied the Monegasque better results.

In Melbourne, he was ordered not to overtake Sebastian Vettel and maintain the team’s current places, whilst in China, he was told to allow Vettel through despite claiming he had enough pace.

Despite being on the wrong end of team orders so far Danner told Sport Bild that he doesn’t expect Leclerc to make an issue.

"Charles is too intelligent to make any sort of fuss right now," Danner said.

"He stays calm, he makes himself felt, but without spreading any kind of bad mood in the team."
