Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi is set to take a 10-place grid penalty for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix due to taking on a new Control Electronics unit for the weekend.

The Italian is set to take another new control electronics after suffering issues in China that put him out of qualifying.

Ferrari also confirmed that the issue Charles Leclerc suffered while leading the Bahrain Grand Prix was a control electronics issue, with both Ferrari and Haas taking new components for the Chinese Grand Prix without penalty.

Regulations stipulate that only two control electronics can be used by one driver per season, with Giovinazzi's change putting him onto a third unit already.

"I’m going to Baku pumped up and with some good vibes," Giovinazzi said in the team's race preview.

"I have very good memories as I won two races when I drove in GP2, I like the track and I hope that I can improve my performance and get the maximum potential out of the car.”

Teammate Kimi Raikkonen is also set to take a new unit but will do so without penalty.
