Guenther Steiner and Haas have aimed plenty of complaints in Pirelli's direction. They struggle to run long stints on their cars meaning they're often slow at the end of races. But Mario Isola hits back and claims the Haas chassis is at fault.

“The situation is difficult to assess since the problem has to do with their chassis. They are fast in qualifying, but the temperature of the tyre drops very quickly in the race. They have to look for a solution to keep the rubber warm: with that in mind, the tires have also been developed. Only at high temperatures does the rubber ensure the right speed," explains the motorsport director of Pirelli to the Russian Championat.

The Haas car will have a number of upgrades installed ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. But Romain Grosjean isn't sure if this is the right thing to do.

"It makes no sense to come up with updates if you have a fundamental problem with the tires," the Haas driver said.
