Daniel Ricciardo says he is ready to move on from his mistake during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as Formula 1 heads to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Ricciardo and Renault teammate Nico Hulkenberg struggled all weekend in Baku with the R.S.19, particularly under braking. It was this area that led to Ricciardo's unfortunate error during the race which in turn led to his and Daniil Kvyat's retirement.

Having gone deep in an ambitious move down into turn three, the Australian reversed into the Toro Rosso driver and was handed a three-place grid penalty for the Spanish Grand Prix. Ahead of the race in Spain, Ricciardo said he was keen to move on after what happened and make up for his error.

"I feel bad for the team about what happened in Baku, especially as we were starting to hit a nice rhythm in the race," he said.

"We'll take the positives from it, move on and go again in Barcelona. Unfortunately, the three-place grid penalty isn't ideal, but it's one I'll accept for my error and I'll deal with it as best as I can in Spain. Maybe it's time to crack out some of the overtaking moves!"
