Giovinazzi feeling pressure to score points soon

Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi has revealed that he is feeling under pressure to get off the mark in the 2019 F1 season and his F1 career soon, especially considering Kimi Raikkonen’s success in the same car.

Giovinazzi was likely not to have been expected to outscore or even match Raikkonen, but he and his team will have been disappointed by his failure to score any points in the first five races, with a best finish of 11th, in Bahrain.

In an interview with Sky Italia at the Mille Miglia event, Giovinazzi admitted: "I feel so much pressure from the Italians to take home my first points.”

Neither him or Raikkonen were close to scoring points at the last race in Barcelona, but the Italian says the team are working to find out why and rectify it for the next race in Monaco.

"We are trying to find a solution after a weekend that was not positive for either of us," he said.

"But we are a great team and we have a good car, I am convinced. We need to find a way to put the whole package together and the results will come."
