Zandvoort has finally been confirmed and Max Verstappen finally has a home Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver has been speaking about the prospect of driving there next season.

The Dutch Grand Prix is set to return to the calendar for the in 35 years in 2020 and is expected to be the first European race of the season if the Spanish edition is axed. With plenty of fan fair surrounding Verstappen in Holland, it makes a lot of sense to take Formula 1 back to Holland.

Speaking to Motorsport at Zandvoort Verstappen said: “What is only beautiful, certainly knowing that a Grand Prix is coming next year. That is very special and nobody expected that a year ago.

"If you finally see that it is official, that is really very special.

Despite the excitement of having a home race, the Red Bull driver admitted he’s not sure about the circuit being ready as it is in its current form.

"I think it is an addition to the racing calendar for the drivers. But there are certainly some adjustments to be made to the circuit to promote catch-up actions.

"I don't know if Zandvoort is a good circuit specifically for us [Red Bull]. There is a lot of gas in it, and if that last corner becomes that too, it is not good for us."
