McLaren's Lando Norris is aiming to use the experience he picked up last year in Formula 2 to produce another good result in 2019. The rookie Formula 1 driver has picked up 12 points so far this year.

Last year, Norris stepped onto the podium in F2 after a sublime drive around Monte Carlo. Following this, he believes he knows what he's got to do in order to get a points finish in 2019.

"I’m looking forward to heading back to Monaco, it’s a really cool circuit and I managed to get on the podium there last year in F2. This track requires all your concentration and there’s never really a break anywhere around the lap," Norris said.

Monaco's qualifying session is perhaps the most important Saturday on the calendar. With the tight streets, it's hard to overtake. Norris hopes to perform well on Saturday and then take advantage of the usual tangles in Monaco.

“There’s a lot of focus on getting it right on Saturday – it can really make or break your weekend as there aren’t many overtaking opportunities there come Sunday," Norris added.

"My target is to put in a good performance in quali and place ourselves in a position to take advantage of any mid-race drama. The key to scoring points here is to ensure we have a clean race.”
