Steiner hoping Canada will give a better idea of engine progress

Haas boss Guenther Steiner has admitted that the team couldn't get an accurate idea of what the new Ferrari engine was like in Monaco but is hoping that Canada will be the ideal opportunity to put it to the test.

The Haas pair of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen finished tenth and 12th respectively at the race in the Principality as they continue to fight in the close midfield battle. Haas used the updated Ferrari engine in Monaco but at the time Steiner admitted he wasn't sure how much additional power it would grant the team.

Steiner is hoping Canada will be a good chance for the team to see the progress of the Ferrari power unit but was grateful for the upgrade.

"The new engine was very good, without complaints, but in Monaco, it is not a circuit to mark engine differences, it is always good to have more power, but there are no differences, in Canada, we will see how much better the new engine is," Steiner is quoted by AS.

"The fight is very tight, especially between the fifth and the ninth, and it will become more and more interesting as we move through the season."
