Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has confirmed that his team will be taking part in the second series of "Drive to Survive", a Formula 1-based series on Netflix.

The Silver Arrows and Ferrari both declined to take part in the opening season of the Netflix documentary. The two leading teams in F1 refused to take part because they were worried the sides would be distracted by the recording crews.

Wolff spoke to the media earlier on in the year and revealed that he didn't like the show at first but he became more of a fan of the show as he carried on watching the documentary. He also confirmed they'd take part in one race at least, but now the news has broke that Mercedes will be allowing access to their behind-the-scenes garage.

"I watched it on my way to Australia, and I didn't like it," Wolff revealed. "I think it didn't reflect what was happening on track. But everybody who spoke to me, who was not a hardcore race fan, said they loved it!

"So, I watched it again and I realised that it showed stories that on track don't exist. It's about the characters. It showed me a new angle to attract a new audience, different to how I perceive F1.

"This is why I decided to join and be part of Netflix 2019. But at only one race and that will be Hockenheim. But I am not sure yet!"
