Romain Grosjean cut a despondent figure after he was knocked out of Q2 following his team mates Kevin Magnussen's scary crash at the end of the second session.

Grosjean was on a good lap, but a few seconds ahead, Magnussen hit the wall at the final corner, throwing debris across the track and bringing out the red flag immediately, ruining Grosjean's lap and cementing him as P15 for the race on Sunday.

Grosjean told Sky Sports: "Once again, I was unlucky.

"The day was not easy, since I had a problem with my rear wing during the third free practice session, while in qualifying, I was stuck and was unable to finish. my turn in Q2 because of the red flag.

"It's a shame, because even though I'm not sure we could have been among the top ten, we could have been higher on the grid and it would have played tomorrow in the race."
