Carlos Sainz has admitted he is pleased with the result of the British Grand Prix for McLaren but insisted there are still areas to work on.

Sainz finished sixth at the race at the iconic Silverstone signalling the third race in a row he has finished in the points. Sainz qualified for the race in 13th but performed admirably to finish P6.

McLaren have performed fantastically in recent weeks to establish themselves as the leaders for best of the rest and Sainz's P6 only reaffirmed that. Sainz admitted he was pleased with the result but highlighted a few areas to work on.

"Happy for the result," Sainz said after the race as quoted by Albert Farega on Twitter.

"The goal was to get out better than the Alfa and then stay in position keeping wheels.

"In the last stint, Ricciardo had a lot of speed and it was very difficult to hold it. We still lack in slow curve and traction "
