Renault has confirmed that Esteban Ocon will complete both days of running in the post-Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 test at the Yas Marina Circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Renault announced back in August that Ocon would be joining its race team for the 2020 season in place of Nico Hulkenberg, partnering Daniel Ricciardo.

Ocon officially started work with Renault on the Monday following the race in Abu Dhabi, cutting ties with Mercedes after spending over four years with links to the German manufacturer.

The Frenchman will now complete two days of running in Renault’s R.S.19 F1 car at the Yas Marina Circuit, helping embed himself within the team ahead of the new season.

Ocon made his most recent appearance for Renault during first practice for the German Grand Prix in 2016, prior to his F1 race debut with Manor at the next race.

Renault becomes the latest team to confirm its line-up for the Abu Dhabi test that will see teams continue to trial the 2020-spec tyres, which could yet be shelved after a difficult collective test in Austin last month.

Ferrari will field race drivers Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc in the test, while Mercedes is set to split running between Valtteri Bottas and George Russell.

Toro Rosso will give a run-out to Sean Gelael alongside Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly, with Williams set to hand Roy Nissany his maiden F1 outing.

The two-day test begins at the Yas Marina Circuit on Tuesday, lasting for eight hours on each day in the final running for F1 in 2019.
