Bosses of F1 teams have agreed to delay the new 2021 regulations to 2022, following a conference call today. The bosses of the ten teams met to discuss how F1 moves forward following the coronavirus outbreak, which has caused the start of the season to be delayed.

Andrew Benson has reported that the teams have agreed to delay the rules and are currently working out how this can be possible.

Another takeaway from the meeting is that the teams are prepared to do what they can to get as many races in the 2020 season as possible.

The Dutch, Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix are all also postponed, leaving June as the earliest possible start time for the season.

This means that the current set of rules are set to continue into 2021, with the major changes coming into effect for the following season. These new rules will be one of F1's biggest ever shake-ups, with a budget cap introduced for the first time.
