The FOM, the FIA Liberty Media hope to finish between fifteen and eighteen Grands Prix this season. This will be announced in a statement on Monday evening. At least until the weekend of 12-14 June there will be no racing in Formula 1, which means that in the remaining months of 2020 there will be a full Formula 1 calendar.

"While at present no-one can be certain of exactly when the situation will improve, it will improve and when it does, we will be ready to go racing again. We are all committed to bringing our fans a 2020 Championship Season", Carey said. "We recognise there is significant potential for additional postponements in currently scheduled events, nonetheless we and our partners fully expect the season to start at some point this summer"

The number of more than twenty Grands Prix will in any case not reach Formula 1 this year. They are now aiming for a lower number. "We are aiming for a revised calendar of between 15 and 18 races", says the CEO of Liberty Media. The American goes on to say that the situation is still changing on a daily basis and that it is therefore difficult to share more information.

Safety important

However, the safety of everyone remains paramount. "Between Formula 1, the teams and the FIA, working with our key stakeholders, we are planning and fully committed to returning to the track at the earliest opportunity to commence the 2020 season. We will continue to take advice from health officials and experts, as our first priority continues to be the safety and health of our fans, the communities we visit and those within the Formula 1 family", can be read on the website of the Formula 1.

So far only the Monaco Grand Prix has been cancelled definitively. Which other Grand Prix will not be held is not yet clear.
