Lando Norris has unveiled a new helmet design that he will use at this weekend’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

Back in March, Norris launched a competition where fans could submit their own helmet designs - with the chosen winner being the McLaren driver’s helmet for this weekend.

The winning helmet was designed by six-year-old Eva and will be worn by Norris for the duration of his home grand prix at Silverstone.

Ahead of the Thursday media sessions, Norris unveiled the new design on his Twitch channel.

“This is from Eva,” Norris said. “Eva is six years old, her dad sent in her design. It just reminds me a lot of when I was younger, scribbling away and coming up with cool things. It's very original, there's none of this design stuff trying to make it look all glitz and glamoury.

“I love it. There's a lot of white but at the same time, I think it's really cute. I like the colours and it's very original. I'm going to be wearing it all weekend, wet or dry.

“Thanks to everyone else who sent in their designs as well. Hopefully, in some other races, we can do some more of this and more competitions.''

Norris has enjoyed a strong start to his second year in F1, scoring a podium at the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix.

He currently sits fourth in the drivers' championship on 26 points, 11 points clear of McLaren team-mate Carlos Sainz.
