Although we started 2020 without a German race on the calendar, we're still going to the Nurburgring next week. Toto Wolff is looking forward to it and expects a lot from the possibly wet race.

The Nurburgring is a well known circuit when it comes to Formula 1. However, the track is normally used when it's warmer and sunnier outside and not in the middle of October. Chances are it will be the first rain race of the season.

Last time there was a rain race in Germany, it didn't end very well for Mercedes. Still, Toto Wolff is looking forward to the upcoming Grand Prix. "I think it's always good for Mercedes to have a race in Germany. And coming back to the Nurburgring is fun. It's a track we have good memories of. I have an emotional bond with the track," Wolff said to Formula1.com. The Austrian once won the Nurburgring 24 Hours there.

Low temperatures in Germany

"It's definitely going to be an exciting race with low temperatures and possibly even rain. But in the Eifel everything is possible. We are looking forward to it. Unfortunately we can't invite guests this year or put people from Mercedes in the stands. It's always fun to have that opportunity," continues the team boss.

"In the end, you have to be able to score points everywhere. And you'll be more attached to some tracks than others. I think we just need to have a good race there, just like in Russia," concluded Wolff.
