The Portuguese Grand Prix is just around the corner, which means a new opportunity for a famous victory. Tom Coronel believes Max Verstappen is in with a great shot at victory this weekend.

Opportunities for Verstappen

Because of the coronavirus, the Formula 1 season of 2020 has been turned upside down, and the calendar has been no different. This weekend we head to Portimao in Portugal. According to Tom Coronel, there is a great opportunity for Verstappen to win there.

"There are three slow and about six medium speed corners, so downforce is important and Red Bull is strong in that. Of the last five Formula 1 circuits That will go to this year, Portimão is one of the better chances for Max Verstappen to win again," the racing driver told Nu.nl.

Overtaking options in Portugal

"This circuit requires a lot from the left tires, wear and tear is going to play a major role here. During the last races Verstappen was already a few times close to Hamilton, who knows it might be the other way around now."

"In the first corner of course, with the DRS. And in the combination of bends five and six, there you can enter wide and then cross in front. In turn ten, you can pass it on the inside," concluded Coronel, who himself participated in the 24 Hours of Portimao this season. He finished fifth with Comtoyou Team Audi Sport.
