George Russell made it two out of two in FP2 at the Sakhir Grand Prix, as he topped the second session of the day on the outer loop. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez made up the top three.

This time last week Russell was preparing for the Bahrain Grand Prix in a Williams. Fast forward a week, and the Young Brit was in a Mercedes, topping the timesheets for the second session in a row. His time of 54.713 was enough for top spot, and well and truly established himself as a competitor for the race this weekend.

Max Verstappen replicated his FP1 performance finishing second with a time of 54.841. Sergio Perez completed the top three as he looked to get back to business following last week's desperately disappointing retirement with just a few laps to go.

Esteban Ocon put in a good shift to beat his Renault teammate and finish fourth, whilst Alex Albon was fifth as he searches for a second consecutive podium. Daniil Kvyat (P6), Lance Stroll (P7), Daniel Ricciardo (P8), Pierre Gasly (P9) and Carlos Sainz (P10) completed the top ten.

Session to forget for Bottas

It was a far from ideal session for Valtteri Bottas as he ended the session outside the top ten in 11th. His time of 55.321. However, the Finn can take some hope from the fact he did set the fastest lap, only to have it chalked off for a mistake at turn eight.
