Nicholas Latifi made his Formula One debut at Williams in 2020 and experienced highs and lows. He enjoyed a high finish of P11 but didn't score a point and often lacked behind the field.

Great contrast between Formula 1 and Formula 2

"Maybe 'enlightening' is too big a word, but I learned a lot about myself as a driver than in the past. In Formula 2 you quickly see what your strengths and weaknesses are, even if you change teams. The differences are not that big there," Latifi told The Race in an interview.

In Formula 1, however, the differences are much greater. "Then when you switch to Formula 1 you are suddenly dealing with much faster cars, and you are racing against the best drivers in the world. George Russell is a great benchmark for me because I have to adapt and learn so much about myself as a driver.

"You can't keep doing what you're used to. You have to unlearn certain habits and learn to think very differently sometimes. It's important to be able to make such adjustments, whether you like them or not. I have learned a lot about myself as a driver, and now know in what areas I need to improve," Latifi concluded.
